The Secrets of the Cellar: Wine Aging Demystified

We will begin with an educational wine tasting led by William Ridlehuber, Echanson Provincial for the Southwest region. William will explore and explain the nuances of how a great wine evolves through the aging process by leading us through a tasting of two Grand Crus from the Saint-Emilion region across three vintages (tasting a total of 6 wines).

  • 2006, 2012, 2018  Canon la Gaffeliere

This will be a fascinating side-by-side comparison and will also give you the chance to ask any questions you have ever had about which wines age best, ideal cellar conditions, how to tell when a wine is peaking, etc. from one of the Chaîne’s most knowledgeable experts. Following the tasting, Bill Floyd, owner of Porta’Vino and longtime Chaîne supporter, has arranged a three-course prix fixe dinner for us including wine.
